RavenMocker
Retainer rings and lights off a chevy g van or 80s chevy pickup will fit. Cool... I know no one can see them but the retainer rings look new. I'm going to clean the grill and bezels up and then paint the black black and see if I can get the chrome to at least look halfway decent. JeepcoMJ
Use the finest steel wool you can find, dipping it in water on occasion, the. Hose off. Do this before paint so that you don't scratch the black areas. That is exactly what I did and why the grille that was on my 89 looked so good. ftpiercecracker1
Well it was very close and I have decided. I am going with the Waggy grill.. Here is what I bought for 75 dollars. Needs some TLC but it is workable. And I was able to get two sets of turn signals. :) Oh Yeaa! Wagoneer all the way!! :rock on: Use the finest steel wool you can find, dipping it in water on occasion, the. Hose off. Do this before paint so that you don't scratch the black areas. They work incredibly well for taking off deep set in stains and such. Case in Point: Severely stained fender after good hard scrubbing with hot soapy water. . . . Before: After:

NHMJXJ
That Wagoneer grill and headlight set up always makes me think of the Family Truckster that Chevy Chase buys in the movie Vacation.
RavenMocker
I'm running out of room in my garage and its spring cleaning. So what the heck I figured I would just install the wagoneer grill the way it is and then work on it later. I will most likely plastidip it black for now. Looks like crap still and I need to find part numbers for the front side markers as all the ones I have come across so far have been for the regular XJ grills. JeepcoMJ
Plastidip is for ricers. Do a good job, not a lazy one
RavenMocker
Ricers... lol.... I guess for some it is. Right now I have to many irons in the fire... So to make it look good I will plastidip it for now. Then I can decide later how to go about the front. :)
dankicksass
I like the Wagoneer nose a lot, if I ever come across one, I'll probably take it home. It might look a little silly with my TJ flares, but TJ flares are a little silly as is.
RavenMocker
Ok so today I went ahead and did the black plastidip. I think I might just strip it later and paint the entire grill and bezels black or maybe the same color I will be painting the truck. The thing I like about using the plastidip is I can see what something looks like painted but not destroy the item. It just peels off. I finally found a salvage yard with the parking lamps. So I was able to buy both sides and a another bezel for 25 bucks.
Oddmodman
I dig that look a lot. I just wish the headlights were round. Round headlights are so much classier.
JeepcoMJ
Round headlights on a hard lined square body? Yuck. The plasti dip looks ok.
dankicksass
IMO, round headlights look alright with the late grille if it's done well. I don't like a narrowed grille or those eBay projectors though.

dankicksass
Easier than going with that 2500 front end. I hear those take forever to show up. And while I like the look of Commander headlights, they seem like an all-work-no-gains scenario.
JeepcoMJ
I had the header for one. No thanks.
