Hello All! I'm currently a USAF Academy sophomore and will finally be able to purchase a truck in May this year. First and only choice of course is a Comanche. Here is what I am looking for:

100,000-150,000 miles

4x4

4.0L

Short Bed

Manual 5-Speed

Minimal floor pan rust.

Located in Colorado or North Carolina

The floor pan rust is on the list mainly because while I am here I have little ability to do maintenance on that level. After that I will start a build thread and we'll see where I can go from there! I'm not one of those guys who grew up around their dads workshop or built cars all their life but I am majoring in mechanical engineering and would appreciate any advice y'all have.

Update!

I have a 1989 secured!! I'm gonna be buying it and driving it home to NC near the end of March.

1989

4.0L

SWB

Bench / light gray interior

5 speed AX-15

4X4

164,000

Couldn't be more excited! It has no rust other than a small spot near the bottom of the passenger door and near the drivers runner drain hole. First mods plan to be 97+ front end swap and stripping the crappy duplicolor bed liner out. Once the new herculiner bedliner is in and the lower body 1/3 is covered I'll send it in to paint for a nice Air Force blue to prevent any more body rust while I wait to drive it up to Colorado in the summer.

Once I officially buy it I'll start a build thread, plan to call it Gumby, cause "Semper Gumby" always FLEXable!!

Awesome plane! I just had a friend drop E-3's out of pilot training and will be going to Tinker as well

Daughter was accepted for pilot training, but failed the medical due to her marginal eye site. She was very disappointed of course, but ended up riding an E-3 anyhow as an ABM.
