88 long bed big ton. Dana 44, 4.0L, auto with power/comfort mode, 4x4 with posi-lock front end.

4.0L has fresh internals from a rebuild done before I bought it, this was about 7 years ago.  I drove it daily for about 3 years then only occasionally for the past 4. Bored .010 with forged pistons and a camshaft from an HO 4.0L. Has a flowmaster exhaust with no cat since its beyond emissions testing years.

Brand new alternator.

Brand new wires, cap, plugs, and rotor.

New main battery cables.

NSS has been bypassed.

Has a manual electric fan.

Just recently put a new gasket at the thermostat that was leaking. Good now.

I've always run synthetic oil. Doesn't leak any.

The bad part is it runs rough because of the electronics. I think it needs a TPS, an O2, and an EGR.  Eats gas, probably 10-12mpg.  The battery needs to be replaced. It starts reaaaaally slow even after cleaning and regreasing the starter and having another running Jeep hooked up to it. That probably needs to be replaced too.

Spent over a $1000 repairing the rotted frame. It was fixed pro by SVE Performance and a little bit by myself. I removed the bed to clean and paint the frame. Bed is in good condition but a few of the bolts holding it down are broken. It's got 4 good ones.

Gas tank was new when I bought it but the fuel gauge does not work. I think its the sending unit. It is bolted to the bed and no longer hangs from the j-hooks, those mounts rotted away. It may still leak. I haven't filled it past a few gallons but I put a new gasket on the sending unit and JB welded around the wires going to the pump.

The interior is mostly junk. No radio, no carpet, driver side floor needs replacing, heat smells bad, no interior lights, fuel gauge doesn't work, lights instead of analog gauges, noisy as all hell on the highway because of that exhaust, unsupportive bucket seats from an XJ but I do still have the bench hiding in the garage.

Brakes are okay. Removed the rear bed adjuster and plumbed hard lines, never had a lockup but I don't drive it much. Could use a new booster I think but its driveable.

The doors are bad. The driver side window cable is broken and won't open all the way. The rockers are disintegrating.

4wd is good, steering is good, suspension good, sounds good with the engine work and exhaust, tires have decent tread but are pretty old regardless. They hold air.

I've been saving it and saving it in the hopes of building it someday as a tough truck racer or casual wheeler but that reality is too far into the future. I think with a better mechanic than myself, this can be a really good truck; a fuel cell or a new sending unit/pump assembly, a new brake booster and master cylinder setup, and some new engine electronics and it should be good.

I'll get some more pics.

No feelers here?  I did a search and saw a few others.  I suppose you can remove the thread if necessary.  My apologies.

I paid $2000 before all the frame repairs. Be nice to get that back.

We don't catch them all. But we do catch most of the feeler threads. Even part outs require prices for the larger items.
