Where you coming from, son? I have a SWB 2wd 2.5L donor in NJ. $800.00. Motor is shot & out of truck. Interior is rough but base is solid. Shipping? Again, where you be.

Looks like he is in Portland, Oregon. I couldn't imagine going/shipping cross-country or I would have offered my '86 here in Ohio when I saw this posted last night.

OT, just curious but what kind of a swap are you doing? Sounds like you're basically looking for another entire rig since you're asking for a specific drivetrain. Otherwise, any MJ drivetrain will swap direct into any MJ body without complication. Unless you try to stick a 4.0 into an early '86, but even then super easy to fix with a bit of hammer on firewall massage.

Well I'm currently in the Automotive program at the local college and want a back up drive train I can rebuild, restore, and repair to transfer into my jeep and then rebuild, restore and repair my jeeps current drive train and have a complete everything as a back up set.

babyblack86 2wd shot motor interior is rough and your in Jersey. Don't you guys salt your roads there during winter too? $800... Sounds more like I would be doing you a favor. lol.

Ideally i'm looking for a newer 2.5l block, as Pete M mention they are stronger and better build, an AX-15 transmission preferably, and one of the more desirable transfercases NP242 or something like that.

Or Even someones wrecked Jeep, Crawler, 4x4 with usable parts I'm really looking to expand my own personal knowlegde and have the extra parts to build and repair my jeep at any time.

That's great that you are getting the formal vocational training. It's refreshing to hear from a youngster that college is not being wasted on artsy fartsy courses and "party time". At least you will end up with a viable skill.

As for our "extra salty" roads, some rigs fare better than others. It all depends upon the owner and how they treat it. I don't pick up rust buckets. I find Jeeps tucked away in the oddest places and many do not make the cut. If it wasn't worth salvaging it would have been pulled apart by now.

Being on the left coast, were too far apart anyway. Good luck in your local search for that project. It will pop up in the damnedest place!
