NHMJXJ
So, I'm installing my new found country door cards, and I discover the Vehicle Production Broadcast. It's a legal size tractor-feed sheet, taped to the back of the drivers side card. It has the VIN, the time and date it was printed, and the rest is a combination of Gaelic, Pig Latin and Swahili. Anyone know how to read these?
GirsMJ86
What is a "vehicle production broadcast" sheet? Are we talking about build sheet? If so I pretty much figured it all out, for an '86 anyways, after I found mine in the driver side door and compared to what options the truck clearly had like chrome, roll bar, foglights, etc. and what knew from working at Jeep and GM dealerships. Minuit
It's basically the second half of the build sheet IIRC. I found mine under my seat where it was from the factory. It lists stock specs as you would see it in Chrysler's database. Stuff like tire size, color code, serial number, and the date it rolled off the factory. That's mine with the most important stuff edited back in. The coolest thing IMO is the exact date and time of production, in the top right. That basically looks like the one I found in the door of my '86, only fancier Chrysler version rather than AMC. Mine isn't that long but it lists all that info you mentioned. NHMJXJ
Is that info in the top the time of production, or when they printed it? Most of it is code ... the sheet I found looks like yours (except the big hole where the window crank shaft went through it).
Minuit
The top right is the production date. i.e. mine was finished on 4/17/91 at 12:55.
Rockfrog
I found mine in my Passenger side door panel when changing my door lock cylinders ... skewered by the arm rest screw. Wasn't nearly as fancy looking as that Chrysler one as it was AMC. Made me feel like one of them Mustang and Camaro guys for about 15 seconds ... NHMJXJ
Cool beans. I'm the 4th owner of my present MJ. I have nearly all the service records and other documentation, including the window sticker. Where do you think they hid the "build sheet"? GirsMJ86
Doors, behind the panel on the back of the cab, in the bottom of the b-pillars. They've been found everywhere.
