Virginia Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I've been reading about door swaps and am beginning to believe this is out of my league. I have two power doors from a 4 door 94 cherokee. Based on what I've read, this isn't going to be a simple plug and play is it? My 91 comanche, I assume, doesn't have the necessary wiring harness. Is there an easy way to do this?
Crash Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 Up to 96 body was the same. So the doors will bolt in. As far as wiring, you would need to pull the kick panels and see.

dasbulliwagen Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I had to make a cross body harness for mine to get them to work. Theres not only the windows, but the locks, and mirrors to think about. I used the downloadable factory service manual wiring diagrams to build mine for my 87, using 86 donor doors. I have heard some say that some models have a seperate cross body harness that can be pulled with the doors and make it pretty much plug and play. You may want to research that route if youre not good with electrics.

johnj92131 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I did this swap a couple of years ago when the truck was getting some body work. I used a mirror switch/control from an Isuzu Rodeo for the power windows. Mounted it in the dash on the left side of the steering wheel - looks good. Hornbrod's diagram for the cross body harness and later added the power door locks, If I was to do it again, I would use the 97 + doors for the one piece window.
Virginia Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 The doors that I'm putting on have all the switches and wires already in it including power windows. What I'm having to do it connect it to my mj's current wiring harness.
mvusse Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You need the power door harness that runs across the truck under the carpet near the firewall. For power it has a pigtail that plugs into the front of the fuse panel next to the (30 amp?) fuse. You also need the lock and unlock relays. I think everything else is there, but might be forgetting something.
