88whitemanche
What's up guys I'm planning to do a 4.5 inch lift on my truck.... I have the coils, track bar, adjustable control arms, but my main question is can I do the lift without the control drop brackets? I've seen anything over 4.5 with them and wondered if I can do it with out them?
nitroxsteve
Do you mean the control arm drop brackets? If so you should be fine with the adjustable control arms. I believe the control arm drop brackets are only if you use the stock arms with the lift.
mnkyboy
At 4.5" you will be ok with just adjustable arms. drop brackets would be a nice addition though, I run both adjustible arms and drop brackets.

Pete M
"drop brackets vs. no brackets" isn't really about flex. Other things like spring rate, shocks stiffness, and sway bars are bigger factors in that. The big thing that drop brackets do is bring your control arms back to level after lifting so you get a better on-road ride.
mnkyboy
They do help with flex quite a bit. Problem with flex on a short arm is that the arms are already nearly maxxed out on down travel,by leveling the control arms you are adding a ton of room for down travel.
