ron47
My AC works great but under even slight acceleration or load on the engine, the output air flow all but stops. I figure it is vacuum related but don't have a clue where to start poking and proding the old gal. Any advise or instructional link will be appreciated. 64 Cheyenne
Check the blimp behind the bumper, trace all your lines looking for leaks. Buy a cigar, blow smoke into vacuum lines, plug manifold ends, look for escaping smoke.... or blow smoke into the end where it comes off of the manifold. mvusse
And without vacuum is defaults to the windshield (defrost). If you hold your hand up there you will find out it will be blowing there when it quits coming out the vents. Basically the check valve (either built into the vacuum reservoir, or separate in the line leading to it) is not working anymore.
jimoshel
Get a big, black el cheapo cigar. They put out a darker smoke, easier to see.
ron47
Guess I'll take up CeeGar smokin for this project. :-) Thanks for the advise.
cruiser54
And after all that, relocate the vacuum ball to the underside of your coolant bottle bracket, eliminating all those problematic vacuum lines running to the bumper and back.
