Hey guys wasn't sure where I should post this so I just posted it here. I'm a new guy to the site. I currently have an 04 LJ. I was browsing the local classifieds and came across an 87 long bed Comanche. It has around 180,000 miles, it has the 4.0 6 cyl, 2 wd. It needs a new door latch and exhaust manifold. Asking price is $800. Basically what I was wondering if it is worth the asking price. I remember looking at the Comanches awhile ago thinking they were pretty cool then I just stumbled across this one. Thanks for the help.

Pictures would help quite a bit. Look for rust, body/frame damage is one of the biggest considerations on these, everything else is relatively easy to replace.

Some people would pay $1500 for an empty shell with no engine/trans/axles or wiring, if it was 100% rust free, but wouldn't pay $1500 for a rust bucket with a perfectly running drivetrain.

Welcome to the club!

(Also giving us your location may help)

Any idea how much the windshield would cost to replace? He said it has a crack.

$100 to $250. My local dealer quoted me $100 when I specified a 1992 Comanche, but $250 when I specified a 1987. The difference was the 1987 style had the blue tint across the top. Since it is all the same windsheild design you can specify the style you like for the price.

Hey bud :waving: ,

To be honest its hard to estimate what you as an individual will have to pay to get it running good again. We arent there with you to look it over and point out everything it might or might not need, but a good rule of thumb i try to live by is whatever you think its gonna cost be prepared to spend double. If it is 100% rust free, just the body alone is worth 800 bucks, they are that hard to come by. If it runs decent enough where you could get it home and its only cosmetic issues are what you have pictured, $800 is darn good deal.

I say drive it! . :MJ 2: .
