TGTgoHARD Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 http://reno.craigslist.org/pts/3585324279.html Tempted to go grab this guy. Will my 4.10s from my 86 dana 30 work? I assume so but id rather ask.
Dirteatr717 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 It's worth more than 300 for sure but you'll need to tweak your trackbar for that bracket
Geonovast Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Wouldn't that bracket mess up the track bar/draglink geometry, or does that high steer take care of that? I wouldn't be throwing used gears in that. If you're going through the trouble of changing it to 4.10, get new gears.
TGTgoHARD Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 I already have 4.10s stock with my 2.5l. Ill tear it down tomorrow and check the wear. I'm strapped for cash, arent we all?
89eliminator Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 yeah its worth it. what isnt worth it is you setting up used gears. just get new ones.
Dirteatr717 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 If you bring it to a good gear guy he can set it up, it's not usually recommended but it can be done. As for the trackbar bracket, you can always chop it off and put another one at a different height to match the draglink angle. On a side note what are you future plans for your truck? Tire size, lift all that jazz
TGTgoHARD Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Its going to be 5.5" lift, 285/75R16 tires. Going with RE drop down brackets and coils and SOA in the rear. I was only looking for a steering set-up but this is a great platform and it seems like a great price. Trying to justify driving 4 hours and spending that much cash right now is the problem.
Dirteatr717 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Well it's def a nice setup and not that bad of a price, see if he'll meet you closer or lower the price a little. You could stuff a bigger tire under your truck with 5.5" lift :D
Garvin Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Definitely worth the $300 but I'd be scared of stacking the tie rod and drag link on that one bolt. It doesn't take as much as most people thing to bend those bolts.
dasbulliwagen Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I agree about getting new gears. It will be near impossible to set up the gears so the wear pattern is exactly as it was in the old axle. This could cause problems down the road and make you buy new gears anyways.
