'87 fuel-miser Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 so , my 2nd gear is starting to get a "little" loud (ax-4) , truck is an '87 w/4 cyl -4sp around 140,000 on it's ticker ! it runs like a clock but recently i've notice my tranny (2nd) is whinning ! so , i thought i'd ask the pro's , is it on the way out ? is there something i can do to "tone it down" ? i know everyone poo-poo's the 4 speed , but if i had to replace it , i'd like to keep it original ... i "baby" it so, it's driven like an old man ... definately not abused so , what are my options guys ???? as always thanks for the input ! :MJ 1:
