I know with some work, others have placed larger tires in the spare location. I just have a regular factory size spare. I thought about mounting mine on the light bar, but it would still take up a lot of the bed space.

Buffalob mounted his like this:

I thought of doing that but idont want to take space of the bed... I might carry an atv, or tools, or some other things on it. thats why I did not do that, and I would like something concealed too, but anyhow, i guess I will just have to work something out and don't want to stress about it right now, kinda liking the truck and having fun with it...

hey rymanrph I saw something different on your truck but couldn't see what was it until i realized the clear corner lights and turn signals, those look sweet and do go great with the color of the truck.

what do you plan on hauling up there? Just curious

on the rack whatever I can... lol... and maybe put on some lights or something for the trails/beach/ woods/ streets.

Any thoughts on a tire carrier off the rear? :dunno:

I thought on the bumper carrier, just did not ordered my bumper, because I was thinking of trying to put the tire down where the stocks go... just haven't tried it.

thats why I wanted to roof rack too... then decided the tire up there would be a Pain in the A.... to get it down to ground if needed.

Nice mj, looks like everyone likes the way the taillights of the xj were retrofitted into the mj. I believe that the pics they were talking about would be some close up of the taillight with the tailgate down so that they or we can see how the shop did it. Like where are the mounting screws for the lights. The reason I say that is, how would you replace a bulb if it burn out. or the jack a@@ broke one of the lights, how do you replace it? And truth be told, it really up dated the mj. Just as if they had continued making them.

sorry for the late replay, I have been out of town the most part of this year and haven't had internet on the way...

Bed rack. 4 bolts and It's out. I'll be either doing a bumper tire carrier or use a YJ carrier and mount it to the rack.

this is a very good idea, I might try this, I had never think of doing this.

I will try to take some pictures up close, I just have to find a camera since the one I had broke, its taking blurry pictures, I don't know why... Anyone has experience fixing nikon cameras? its an s6000... lol....

anyways I will try to explain... they are bolted thru the sheetmetal from the side... what I mean is that the cut the lip that bolts originally the taillight to the metal on a cherokee... and then they did  littlewhole on the metal on the truck bed, and with the screw the put a whole thru the plastic on the side (black part) of the tail light and thats how it holds.... for the body work they cut some part of the cherokee and just welded in and bondo it and that was it..

what i meant is that you try to fit them just like they originally do on a comanche, however the wholes are a little different... but you will understand me better with the pictures...I know I'm not a good explainer but I will try to get some pictures.

thanks

Neohic: Any idea what tire rack that is? I'm looking for one.

That was something I whipped up a number of years ago. I wanted to keep my spare out of the bed just to free up some more space so out onto the bumper it went. I liked it for a while, but lately have been wanting to change up my bumpers again. Here's a link to that portion of my build thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/14063-88-eliminator-feb-2009-jan-2014/page-7
