Alright, I loaned some money to a "friend" back in July and he hasnt paid me back yet.

He keeps saying, "I need to pay bills first then I can pay you back", he has been saying this for 3 months now.

Its not enough to take him to court.

And he is still buying expincive stuff "greater in value" thats more than how much he owes me.....

How would you guys get your $ back.

Just saying,

We share a Youtube channel and it has grown alot!..... I really don't care, I could always delete that and he'd lose all his vids.... hahaha ;)

This guy is not my friend anymore so id listen to any advice.

And i learned my lesson.

I'm in the same boat with the wife's nephew, can't really write him off. Thought I'd learned long ago never to loan money to friends or family, got a bit more comfortable with it in here lately because of good experiences with other family members that he was aware of, and haven't seen any of the money since Feb. We had a contract drawn up and everything with the car he was borrowing the money for as collateral, but 1 day after he got the car, before he had any insurance or tags on it, he slid it sideways off a wet road and smashed it into a tree at about 60 MPH and totalled it. So much for the collateral, and the money it seems...

Just take it as a lesson learned and NEVER loan friends or family money unless you are totally prepared for that loan to turn into a gift.

:yeah that:

Or small claims court.

Its $70...

I knew this guy for 11 yrs and I now dough Ill hear from him again. We wer sharing a youtube channel and he posted his last vid this morning saying we had a disagreement and he will be moving to his old channel. We never had a disagreement, he stole $70 from me and makes it sound like its my fault... wtf.

I need new friends.

I've been through that situation before with old friends and family. A long time ago my dad told me that any time you loan out money consider it a gift. Its a lesson that kept me from only loaning money when I had enough to not be to upset if it didn't come back.

Write it off. I don't think $70 is enough to write off an old friend so much as it is a reason to never do it again... No matter what he needs it for. Let him know face to face you think it was a poor move, and move on. If he values the relationship, he will make it up to you somehow.

I did the same run around chasing around a guy who shorter me on some MJ parts... Stood me up three times, I kept taking the 'meet me here and I'll give you the money' bait. Seemed like a nice enough kid, and normally I am a pretty good judge of character. That one slipped by the goalie though... Ruined it for the next guy who wants to do faith trading with me.

Hey Rob, last night, all I said to this guy was " I'm moving to NY around November, could you pay me back before then?", right after that, he made a vid on youtube saying

"we had a disagreement"..We never had a disagreement, we never argued about this, he refused to return my phone calls.

I'm 110% sure he dosnt care of being friends anymore and he refuses to pay me back.. he only cares for him self.

He just bought a $700 car stereo the other day, later he hits a pot hole in his car and ruins the car. Karma???

He made a video today saying he is done with my youtube channel and is starting a new one.

He told in the video, to leave my channel and subscribe to his....

I changed the password to my channel, I left the vid up on my channel and edited it, played music over what he had to say, so nobody will be leaving my channel. haha

I'm not going to delete this channel because it took so long to build it up. Eventually in the future, I'd like to partner with Google and try to make a small income off if it.

Reason why I want this $ so bad is because I'm out of a job. $70 is 2 months worth of car insurance!

I know I'm not getting paid back now.... Thanks for all your advice.
