89JeepMJ
has anyone ever done this but not mudded it up and blocked it to make it all blend in. I'm looking for a repair where you turned it into something cooler. I'm thinking like a black panel with silver rivets or bolts with chrome heads. pictures would be great thanks
sinkrun
No pictures but somewhere I have seen Diamond plate with black bolts or rivets neatly done. I have been thinking of this myself lately as mine is where it has to have something done soon. I did just weld rockers on and floors (first time) and used black chip guard to hide my novice work. Its going to be hard to hide novice work on the bed.

Automan2164
CW just basically moved his flares up into the stratosphere to rid the rust, but the diamond plate helped a bit.
89JeepMJ
http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/sho ... p?t=155248 Kinda like this but down closer to the body ling on a MJ and it would be behind the flare. also be a lot more nicely done

ftpiercecracker1
Dude that looks freakin awesome  Even if i didnt have rust, which i do, i would put those on. What exactly did you use? obviously rivets, but what gauge steel and i guess a plasma torch?
89JeepMJ
aluminum rivets, 14 guage aluminum sheet, gloss black and black silicone. i used a scroll saw to cut it out cause aluminum is so soft. made foam board templates which all the drawing up and figuring out the angles and all, that took the longest time. Automan2164
Doesn't look half bad for sprucing up a work truck. Rob
Carl'sMJ
Looks good... Did you cut out all the rust behind it or just cover it up?
