88whitemanche
Whats up guys I wanted to know how hard is it to swap out the cherokee doors to the comanche? Is it hard? or just alot of adjusting to do?
PACIFIER
Not hard at all, it should take you no more than an hour, even if it's your first time. The hardest part is getting to the locking cylinders.

Geonovast
Are you referring to the 97+ XJ doors? I believe the only issue on those is the striker. 84-96 4 door XJ doors are the exact same door. Should be a direct swap. Edit

88whitemanche
So what ia the issue with the door striker woukdnt I have to have to use the parta needed from the door for the 97 +
Eagle
The issue is that the strike location moved vertically with the new body style XJs, which means to use those doors on an MJ you have to modify the strike in the door post.
GHayduke
I'm looking for info at to how to position the 98' door latch / striker on A 88' mj. where does it go & do you drill and tap, bolt or weld it in? Has anyone seen a detailed write up on this? I see many mentions of it but no details...
GHayduke
I just saw this post, it looks like late model latch is more inboard: http://comancheclub.com/topic/32740-alexias-1987-to-1997-comanche/page-13 It looks like the new latch is lower and inboard of the original striker hole. Let us know if anyone knows the measurements on the new holes to be drilled.
