Door handles mine broke

Loking for a drivers side door handle. Mine broke in half and now I can't get in on the drivers side door. Also how do u install one? Any help would be gladly appriated.

FYI the rear handles on an XJ from the same side will also work on the front of an MJ ;)

Looking at my '88 XJ 4-door, it appears from the outside that they'll swap from side to side, too. (Does anyone know if the left and right sides are different internally?)

Left and right exterior handles are not interchangeable due to the internal bellcrank underneath the push button. It would be upside down on the wrong side and wouldn't operate the push button assembly. Plus the actuator rod wouldn't line up. Easy to see laying a left and right handle side-by-side but hard to explain.

I had an extra drivers side door handle from my Grand Cherokee laying around and decided to see if it fit as I liked the look a little better. Only thing that I needed to change was the piece the connecting rod connects to which was as easy as unscrewing the one from the original door handle and swapping it onto the newer door handle. Now all i need is another one for the passengers side.
