jimoshel
Has anybody here, or know of anybody that installed a Corvette IRS under a MJ? Or even a XJ?

neohic
Could get some ideas from watching TRUCKS! on Spike TV. Their project "Rolling Thunder" is the transformation of a Mazda truck into a nasty little road course Ranger. The truck features a Mustang IRS. dasbulliwagen
I shouldnt have to tell you, the allmighty Jimoshel, that back in "THE DAY", they used to use Jaguar independant rear diffs in hot rods. Not sure if they would be any easier to mount or get than a corvette rear diff, but may be something to conider.

And yes, 'Back in the Days,' I had a '41 Chevy convertible with a '58 Jag IRS.

jimoshel
Maybe that's why it's called a Dana 44. They made 44 versions of it.
reece146
IIRC the Dana 44 differential assembly in the Vette and Viper are pretty much the same as the Dana 44 in the JK. That is, completely different from the earlier 44s like in our vintage Jeeps. Doesn't make any difference to the discussion but worth knowing [?].
