Tailgate screws

Will tailgate screws for a Jeep Cherokee fit our Commanche?

 

I called Team Cherokee and they did not really know. They said they did not think so, but were not really sure.

Does anyone know of place I can buy 2 tailgate screws? I stripped them getting them out.

Please clarify exactly which screws you are asking about and PLEASE don't spell Comanche with two Ms.

Button head screws should work just fine. Match thread. Most Truevalue type stores or Fastenal.

You guys need to find a store like Pinellas Fastener............If it's threaded and they don't have it it does not exist.

The torx T-40 screws that are on the bottom of the tailgate (facing down when tailgate is up) and the screw on the bottom on the side.

 

Once again, does anyone know if Cherokee tailgate screws will fit the CoManche tailgate?

 

The aftermarket ones at Lowes look bad and was wondering if anyone had 2 MJ ones or know where any are?

I was pointing out you can have any 'look' you want. Torx, cap screw, button head, ........stainless.....whatever.

 

Lowes is useless.

Maybe since you lack the ability to properly describe where the screws are and what they're used for you should get a pic and post it. And I doubt that the xj screws would work as xj's don't have tailgates they have a rear hatch that's held on with two hinges in the roof.
