Soo... I must have the worst karma ever. :wall:

Just a month after a full slave / master replacement, my actual clutch pedal failed. I'm sorry I don't have pics, but the weld failed right up at the pivot point the first time I depressed the pedal this morning.

Does anyone know if this is weldable, or even should be welded? Should I be buying a replacement pedal assembly instead?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Boy, that is some rotten luck!!

My thinking is that, if it was welded originally

it should be weldable again, but you may also

consider grabbing one from the JY instead.

Would be interesting to see that failed weld under

a microscope.

I had the same problem with my 88 Pioneer years ago. Had a friend who was good with a stick welder fire glue it back together in situ. I have not had a problem with it since. I would suggest taking the time to find someone who is a competent welder.

got mine from jy and call it a day :brows: or here is an  and if you want to try your luck in welding it back together it may be a good learning opportunity jamminz.gif

I did the same repair on my son's Cherokee. Be sure to get the lever/hook clocked back into the right position before welding. Pulling and reinstalling the long bolt that holds the brake and clutch pedal can be a real challenge.

I've had the same problem in 1/2 the std Jeeps I've owned. First the arm bends sideways, then it breaks. When it's on an angle, the master cyl will keep leaking, no matter how many times you change it!
