Hissing brake petal

My brake petal makes a hissing noise when the truck is running and the petal is NOT pressed. If I press the petal a tiny bit, it stops. I haven't even looked at it besides just making sure I wasn't leaking fluid. I noticed It a few weeks ago. Any body have any ideas before I mess with it tomorrow?

Brake booster maybe? i have this happen in my 94 Cherokee, but its only when i push it about 1/4th inch, anymoe and it goes away. don't know what it is, but was told probley the booster

as said above...your brake booster is junk...replace it

I have the same issue on Red. I have a GC booster/MC on the shelf. Is there a way to test it before installing or do I install it and cross my fingers?
