RynoMJ Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Before I go messing around with stuff that I have no idea what it does. My heat adjuster to change where it blows is tough to move and when it does it stays on defroster. Any ideas?
Blue88Comanche Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 check you vacuum lines yet? i think there is also some linkage in the dash as well.
Geonovast Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 My 91 4.0 did something similar to me. The slides weren't hard to move, but it always blew hot on defroster. Turned out to be a cracked vacuum line running to the blimp in the bumper.
RynoMJ Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 I'll have to take a look at the vacuum lines I didn't think of that. Thanks for the ideas!
carnuck Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 also see if the vacuum line right above the gas pedal is knocked off. Happened to me after a err..... meeting in my truck. ;)
HOrnbrod Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Check the hard plastic vacuum line where it goes through the front bulkhead to the vacuum reservoir, right side under the battery. They all break there sooner or later.
RynoMJ Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Where is the best place to get replacement lines? I'm assuming an auto parts store might sell it by the foot?
