Are we all measuring the height of tires (that are mounted on a rig) from the ground to the top? :hmm: Or are we measuring from the front of the tire to the rear of the tire?

would an unmounted tire sitting on the floor have a greater diameter than a tire thats mounted, and on the vehicle? maybe thats how they measure their tires :dunno:

If you're measuring from the ground, a vehicle's weight would knock off an inch or 2 off the tire's diameter. If you measure from the front of the tire to the back of the tire, you should be real close to that of a tire just lying on the ground.

Should be measuring them front to back. You get a more accurate measurement. If you measure them top to bottom, weight of the rig and how much air pressure is in them becomes a big factor then.

i was just posting accurate sizes for what to expect mounted on a vehicle of similar weight and size (both xj's) to an mj. so my 33's would be a little bigger if i measured them front to back, but they were only about an 1'' short from what they would be with no weight on them
