Reverse lights not working

Anyone know where the reverse light switch is located? I think this part has went out on my 89 simply because i had reverse lights when i first bought it and now i don't. I've already checked bulbs and fuses so i'm thinking this is prolly the only thing left to look at other than wiring.

what engine/trans?

 

also, there is a wire harness connector located just behind the rear drivers side tire. corrosion inside there can cause problems with rear lights.

4.0l Manual trans/2wd. And i've already checked the harness connector behind the tire with a test light.........no power at this connector.

reverse switch should be on the pass side of the trans. should have wires coming out of it.

Yeah and new it ain't cheap either...........like about $60.

I know you say you've already checked fuses, but did you check the transmission fuse, it should be slot #13, I lost reverse lights in my 88 when that fuse went.

Ya know i didn't think to look at the trans fuse for that problem. I will take a look this weekend. Hopefully that is what it is cause yea even rockauto.com is pretty pricey for that switch.
