drcomanche
So, I have a Ford 9 inch rear with to be 5 lug hubs and disc brakes. The calipers have absolutely no e brake assembly on them, and I've been thinking about adding them for a while. So, what would be the best method for putting an e brake onto it? Are there any calipers or whole brake assemblies that will fit on the axle from a donor vehicle?
cz777
don't the ford use the inside of the disc hub -mini drum brakes? or like jag xj-6 style ? both can work but this means some work and mods ! oh yes its a jeep thing, lesson learned !
drcomanche
When did Ford start using those? And on what vehicles?

XxStirCrazedxX
76-78 cadillac eldo will work. From what i understand you need to use the ebrake offten so they stay adjusted. i have never used them, but was looking up some info for a hotrod project. hope this helps
87Warrior
I am not sure if this is true, but my buddy was telling me some of the newer Mustangs have an e-brake set up that actually twists the caliper/pads into the rotor. I would imagine something like that would be easier to adapt than the drum-in-hat e-brake system.
XxStirCrazedxX
the cadi ones use a lever and spring to clamp the pads on the rotor.
