fiatslug87 Posted July 4, 2011 Share Posted July 4, 2011 I'm adding a Blackjack header to my '88 4.0, but the EGR tube will not match up. I took a section out of the middle, cut another pipe to use as a sleeve for the cut ends and need to weld it in place. I only have a small O2/MAPP gas set up and was wondering if JB Weld would work instead. They fit pretty tight and the pieces overlap by at least 3/4 of an inch. Why are we here? :D Get it placed how you want it, and have the local muffler guy weld it up for you. Toss him a 10, and forget about it. mjtjnj Posted July 11, 2011 Share Posted July 11, 2011 Nice work! Easier off the car. FWIW, I tried the JW and it failed, miserably, after I put my header on. You had a lot of room to work! After mine failed, I got some stainless steel flexible tube from a source (exhaust for gas powered model airplanes) and clamped it on both sides. Worked well.
