New u-bolts? You do know that they will naturally have some stretch, and all you need to do is check them a couple hundred miles after install, right?

The threads were bad and and the nuts were just hand tight on one of them. I know that i need to tighten them down in a few weeks. So how do the shocks look? I think now that the springs have started to settle they should work. Monday ill turn the shocks the right way and put them on.

Brandon I see that you used the Exploder spring plates with the shocks mounted to them.

On the Chief I just cut those mounts off of the Explorer plates cleaned them up, plates and mounts and welded them

to the axle about 1" past full droop. That way at full droop the axle will hang on the springs, not the shocks.

I think your nearly there just remount your current shocks.

i just noticed, why do you have two overload leafs??? i know the HC 4.5 leafs had one, so where did that second come from?

they might of sent him the 6" lift ones by mistake,

that looks mighty high for only 4 1/2 of lift.

and that would solve your shock problems.

lol kk,

well i looked more,

the pic of shown for the welded on shock mounts to the axle is level with bottom of that "perch with 3 holes, running vertial"

so that would be about 2 1/2- 3 inches higher than where yours are located

don't feel too bad. I've had more than 30 of the things go through my possession so I've got a bit more experience with the 8.8. :D
