comancheman
well I'm probably gonna have to flat bed the comanche due to severe rust on the bed. i already have a nice fuel cell to put in the back but was wondering if any one knew of a fuel pump that would work for this set up. its a 1990 4.
comancheman
no ones got any ideas?
DirtyComanche
Most re-use the stock pump in a fuel cell... Summit sells some nice inline pumps. Just has to have a decent flow rate and put out 50psi or so.
jpdriver1
on a previous project I used the pump off of a 1986 MB gas rig
pingpong
MSD makes a nice electric inline pump.. I forgot what model number it is.. but it is what i am running. I will go look at Pong later on and tell you what the number is... It was right around 90 bucks IIRC
comancheman
i checked out the msd pump on summit racing's site 43 gph and 85 psi. is it possible to damage anything by using this pump with the high pressure. can i still use the stock pressure regulator? thanks for the input tim
pingpong
I don't think that is the same pump.... the pressure wasnt that high on the one I got... I forgot to go check what it was when I came in this morning.. Working 16hrs... is hard on the brain :brows:
jbhill
MSD 2225 i beileve is the p/n. seach for efi fuel pump on summits site.
possum
You might also want to check Holley or Magna Fuel too. They make good pumps.
comancheman
the pressure on the msd 2225 pump is 85 psi according to the site. I'm leaning towards that one because of the price and i know msd makes a good product. if i won't damage any exisiting parts by using this pump ill probably buy it. but i can't see how the o-ring on the stock pressure regulator will hold 85 psi when its only supposed to hold 31. pingpong, is pong still running the 4.0? if this is the same pump u have and u havent had any problems with it then ill go with that one
pingpong
Thats the pump... no problem at all. as a matter of fact we ran everything through the stock lines on the fram foward, and even used the charcoal canister in the system,
