I see everyone praising this POR-15. Should I use it here?? I guess my first step is to remove flares, then cut out rust, then reinforce from backside, then ???? jeepthing07 Posted December 2, 2006 Share Posted December 2, 2006 here are some pictures of how I'm fixing mine with cut outs from 2 door cherokee fenders, front fenders would probably work just as well. the fit its pretty nice but if the metal needs replaced the whole way around cherokee metal is not a direct fit. I used fiberglass resin jelly on the doors of my old CJ7 and its holding up well. you can buy it about anywhere and its for marine use for boats and stuff. aemsee Posted December 2, 2006 Share Posted December 2, 2006 I wish someone made a repair panel for our trucks. The rust on my new one isn't too bad yet, But I want to fix it right. Fortunately the panels are fairly straight in that area so I think cutting and welding in patch panels shouldn't be too tough to do.
