We wish you well on a full recovery. How badly were you hurt? Everyone else OK?? How did it happen?

As for insurance, assuming maybe you have full coverage? If you do, don't let them give you what they think the truck is worth. NADA Guides has a classic car price guide and shows a 1988 Comanche 6 cyl being worth between $2400 and $7600 dollars depending upon condition. I used 88 as it seems to be very common, youll have to do your own specific year. Anyways, If they lowball you, show them this site, or print it out, and try some other sites for values too, you should be able to get more than what they were going to give you, on an appeal.

Totally agree. What they offer you is not set in stone. Even if you think its a great number, ask for more... Oh, and ask for a clean title, if it ends up being not too bad. And buy the truck back. Usually its only about $100. Then take all the good MJ stuff off the old one in preparation of finding a new one.

Good luck with recovery.

When I put the Hog under a 18 wheeler, illegally parked, everything was settled except value of the bike. I was lying flat on my back, nose broke, jaw wired together, leg in a cast up to my hip and just feeling lousy. Adjuster offered me $5,000. I looked at him and suggested he better leave as I was getting another one of my dizzy spells and neck and headache that I had been getting ever since the wreck. Told him I was thinking of talking to (a well known ambulance chaser in the local area). He just looked at me and asked "how much"? $25 thou I said. He wrote out a check and left.

Get better guy and don't let 'em short change ya.

doesn't look as bad in the pic.s, but the trans tunnel is all bent up, and the interior plastic pieces are all cracked, steering column is broken, and somehow the windshield is busted, but my head (other than my chin) isn't hurt, i think since the trans tunnel is bent up, the cab twisted and cracked the windshield.

worst part is i spent all weekend painting all the chrome pieces in the front black, and fixing a crack in the windshield from a rock on the highway. and now since there all broken you can see the chrome agian. bloody chrome just wants to show itself...

ill post some more pic.s later....

its in my driveway now still waiting for the adjuster from the insurance company to come look at it, i got so much flack from my family and the tow guy, about towing it to my house..."its not worth anything" ...."why do you want to pay for the tow, its just going to the crusher, after the insurance guy declares it totaled"....

:fs1:

haven't made a decision upon what ill do with the truck yet.

haveing alot of pressure from the family to get rid of her, but usually when someone tells me to do something i do the other...
