i have more details: rocky road 6" lift, ext brakelines, shocks, used it 3 times or so offroad, doesn't have time. front axle was blown when he got it. put new richmond gears in it along with got rid of the vac operated 4x4 the CAD (i think is what you guys call it). added a posi in front instead. new muffler and pipe. new crager wheels. 2 front tires are almost new thats about all i remember. he only has putted around town little that's why hes never balanced tires or added swaybar. needs radio and does have 200,000 plus miles. best way to contact me is email or call/text 3167653737 tj15w@yahoo.com

I have a feeling that the tires aren't balanced because he can't find a shop that's willing to try, and the sway bar isn't installed because he or the previous owner snapped the bolts off and can't get the pieces out.

be afraid, be very afraid.

I'd run away from that one and find a stocker that I could build up. There's nothing worse than trying to fix someone else's thrashed-to-hell basket case. :(

but if you do buy it, we're here to help.

well those tires will come off as soon as i get it comanche axles won't handle 33s let alone those hawgs! :D rocky road doesnt make long arms i will take off their front spacers which leaves me with OME front springs then i will remove their extended shackles replace with some stock sized beef.all that would leave me with thats rocky road is their perches for the springover and shocks for the most part.trust me guys i hear what your saying i was/still am little worried about this rig after talking to him several times i feel little better.i also feel all the other even stock comanches ive looked at are somewhat basket cases.I'm stuck on what to do i cannot find any other jeeps their is nothing around here and thats 500miles away.my worry about this truck has lead me to posting here and jp forum asking for someone to go look at it.ive had one guy that live 3hrs away say he would what a great guy! jamminz.gif but i don't have the heart to ask him to actually do it.

p.s hes lowered his price to 1500 seems pretty firm there if he goes to 1200 or 1300 it will prob be mine

Try using searchtempest.com for your search. It will also ask you if you want to use autotempest.com which will give you a broader search (dealers, used car dealers, etc.)

I know there were two or three in OK just the other day, but I don't remember specifics. Also, look around KC and Lake of the Ozarks. Seems like there have been a couple recently. I know Wichita is a long ways from KC and central MO, but it's a LOT closer than IL. :D

Hope that helps.

Edit to add:

Is this one gone? http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/1971148948.html

Don't forget to search using misspellings such as camanche, commanche, etc. I usually just use Jeep for a search and scan all the results.

Pete speaks the truth. I've been in that situation with my 89 since the day I bought it. When you add up all the $$ you spent just repairing/replacing expensive "offroad/custom" parts you realize you could have built one of the nastiest rigs around.

If you happen to stumble across an MJ in the greater KC area I would be more than happy to check it out for you.

I found my truck using searchtempest.com

Good luck in your search. It took me 5 months to find a truck I would exchange cash for... And it turned out to be in real bad shape rust wise.
