Virginia Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's the hard plastic elbow piece that attaches to the front of the valve cover then goes over to the air filter. I've done a search on the web and can't find a replacement part anywhere. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing. Am I going to have to go a jeep dealer to get this part? I called NAPA and they said they didn't have it. Neither does Autozone. Anybody have any ideas?
Virginia Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 I'm not going to have time to prowl one until weekend after next. What harm can be done if I drive without it?
Virginia Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 I do have blowby but can live with the mess until I fix it.
mvusse Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I know I had posted a part number somewhere. Just found it in the "what ddi you do to your MJ today" thread: Advance Auto Parts. Dorman/Help! part number 47034, markes as "PCV system elbow, GM" has the correct 1" push in end to go into the valve cover. The other end is 5/8" instead of 1/2", but a small hose clamp fixes that just fine. Cost $4.59. This will work for the Renix (87-90) valve covers. The HO valve cover is different.
Virginia Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 I don't know which valve cover I have. Mine is a 91 4.0 6cyl.
HOrnbrod Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 This is an excellent upgrade for the 91+ if you have blowby. I've done it - works well. http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/technicalfiles/JAvalveCover/ValveCover.htm
