i like the look and feel of it. total cost $65 + 2 hrs .....retail stores around here want OVER $500.00 to get this done...sheesh!

That looks really nice. I've been going back and forth about doing that to my Silverados bed.

It works... don't get me wrong, but after having it in two truck beds I've noticed that it "shrinks" over time and eventually gets to the point that you can see through it to the old paint underneath. Never really had an issue with is scraping off if you do a darn good job of roughing the bed up, I usually spent about 3 hours roughing up the bed to prep it...

Looks good. Like Brent said though, its all in prep. I did my '91 Elim when I had it, and it turned out really good. Spent a bunch of time on prep, but in the end, it started flaking a year later...

My herculiner lasted a good 2 years before flaking. but anytime i put something in the bed and it shifted, it definetely left gouges in the rubber parts. Either way looked better than how it started.

Looks good. :thumbsup: I added their UV Topcoat (off of ebay) to mine as I've read they fade over the years.

After cutting off the bed edge, welding in some angle, patching the holes, and primer black.

Even found a glove-like fitting toolbox at autozone, and shoe-horned it in.

 

 

 

I liked it, and it hid the imperfections in the bed well. Only thing about the ebay special stuff was that the "grit" of the liner was like kitty litter, and very sharp... Gawd forbid you slid or took a quick knee in the back of that thing. :ack:

Yup! We did a shop truck for a customer while I was in the body shop, and it was ROUGH. Personally I wouldn't go that route on my own rig :shake:

I like mine; Line-x spray in. It's tough and looks so sweet every truck bed should come off the line with one. It's kind of pricey for our trucks depending on overall value, but in my case it was the only choice. I saw how Rino-Liner looked and I hated it, all globby and rubbery.

Did you scuff up the paint? I was thinking about doing this and haven't decided if I want to do the brush on Herc, or the spray on U-Pol Raptor liner. The Raptor liner seems to ge better reviews, since it seems to stick better. Maybe its just more forgiving about the prep work.
