Guy in town is selling a 1980 (?) XR75. Asking $350. Looks to be in pretty good condition. Anyone have experience with these 4 strokes? Thanks

Not exactly powerful, I have owned and ridden newer xr100s, and xr200s, and those things will run forever. Neither had as much power as I wanted, my RM250 gets up and goes

i had one back in the day. loved it. it was pretty indestructible engine wise, i ran the holy hell out of it. i jumped it so much and so hard that i probably went through 6-8 mufflers with that design that goes under the footpeg. it would crack the weld where it bolted to the frame so it would just be hanging from where it mounted to the engine. eventually it would crack and i'd have a flame throwing very loud suicide pipe LOL. i also broke 2 frames jumping it. that being said, it's a pretty fast little bike, a fun play bike if you take care of it.

picked up the bike today. got it for a bit less than he was asking :D . runs very well. needs shocks rebuilt, couple loose things tightened and cables and brakes adjusted. now to do some research. supposedly last year of manufacture was 79. this bike is tagged with a 6/79 build date but labled as a 1980 model. has a high mount exhaust like the xr80's, and a white metal gas tank instead of red. neat little bike all around.
