There is no good price to pay. I think Jeepers universally recommend never rebuilding a BA 10/5 or replacing a bad one with another. Convert to an AX-15 or NVG 3550.

pretending that it's just like any other transmission for a moment, I personally wouldn't pay more than $150 if it has a warranty or if I know for sure that it's good. $50 if I don't.

thanks guys I had a guy at work offer me one for $50. I don't need it just thought I might get it in case someone else might need it but obviously I would be losing money in the long run. Thanks again.

Crap. What about the 231 tc on it. Sorry sometimes stupidity overwhelms me when I forget to sleep. Thanks in advance.

That 231 will also fit the early AX-4s and AX-5s, as well as the early AW4 automatic. If he's including the transfer case for the 50 clams, snap it up.

yes to all. I drove it about a week ago when he said he was going to part it out. He has sold the body and motor and he's going to scrap the tranny in about.

However, the T-case would not be a direct fit onto the AX-4/5. AX-4/5 needs a long shaft T-case input, so the Pukey's 231's input shaft would engage spline-wise, but not seal.
