webbjeepxj Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I replace the coil, ig. module ........ still no spark, anything else I should be checking? Background ..... 1986 Comanche X, or Custom, not sure, emblems have fallen off. I got the truck for free, yes for free. It is still sitting at the shop, and the owner never paid to have the work done. Its got all new plugs, wires, cap, batt. and rotor.
webbjeepxj Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 oh .......... sorry left this out .... 2.5 fuel injected .... 2wd 4 spd
Geonovast Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 CmPS is rare to go out. Most likely culprits are a bad CPS, or bad ground strap from the back of the block to the firewall.
FLMANCHE526 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Check the sensor on the tranny i forget what its called but its on the top drivers side trace the wires to make sure theres no breaks in it i had the same problem went through everything and turned out the wiring was bad
webbjeepxj Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Checked all grounds ....... grounds seem ok, I'm going to check that wire from the tranny ... we'll see if that fixes it. I need to post some pics so you guys can see what I'm dealing with ..... I know the 4.0 pretty well, but this 2.5 is new to me. Another note ..... Is there a company that makes the wire packs? Painless wiring maybe?
webbjeepxj Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 Started right up after changing the cps ........ Next, clutch is way loose, I'm now searching hydro clutches and bleeding threads ... Thanks for the help you guys !!!!!!!
