UNL1MTD
Where do you guys get your seat covers from? I got a decent set of 2 dr XJ buckets with the large side and hip bolsters from a 91. Only problem is that they are grey. I'm looking to put on black covers that don't break the bank. I saw on JC whitney and summit some generic covers and the reviews of them varied largely depending on the vehicle they were being installed. I was curious if some of you guys with covers could share your experiences and maybe throw up a pic of the final product. Thanks, Sean

2360
I get my seat covers from "do it yourself". Went to a fabric shop got me some of that there furry stuff, white, and went at 'er. I've did the passenger side and it was a fair amount of work. I've kind of lost the motivation to do the other seat. The ol sewing machine was put to max, not sure if can survive another sew job. Cleaned the rust on the seat brackets and painted them. All in all have to say I am impressed the finished job. The furry seat works great for the cool canachuck winters. UNL1MTD
I guess I'm looking for brand names as well, so that I know when I buy some they are the right ones. Also not looking to introduce anything that is going to cause me to sweat more. The truck has no AC and has a black interior. It gets mighty hot in there already. deziped
2360 that seat looks great. Now get re-motivated & you'll have a good looking interior.
dasbulliwagen
If your grey seats are in good shape, go get some spray fabric dye in the color you want and spray it. Or get some of the Krylon plastic paint, paint the seats and then brush the paint into the fabric so it won't be crunchy. The vinyl parts are plastic, and the fabric parts are probably polyester or nylon, so spray away!
MrFreeze5
I used Wet Okole neoprene covers on my ZJ for 6 years. Just took them off a few weeks ago and my seats look great. And I have put them through hell. Rain, mud, $#!& or blood, it all came right off and never touched the seat. I even had an axle leak about a 12" pool of gear oil on the backside of the back bench seat while it was laid down. Wiped the pool off the seat cover, it left a little stain on the nylon outer layer, but the seat was safe. The downside is theyre really expensive and application specific. i got lucky and got an entire used set for my ZJ, but I wouldnt spend that kind of money on my Comanche. But they are the only waterproof covers I know of, so I may break down and get a pair once I take my doors off.
johnj92131
Sean, I just put MJ buckets in my truck. I kept going to the Yards and when I saw 2 door XJ seats I looked for good part and finally purchased 2 pairs for parts. Then I found a like new set of 4 door XJ seets. Had a shop take parts of all 3 pairs of buckets into one good pair of seats for the MJ. Yes, I also found a pair of MJ bucket seat brackets.. Took about 10 trips to each of 4 local pick your part yards. So just keep checking your local yards. Otherwise, the sheep skin covers sound great.
