codybutz Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Just searching eBay for more things i don't need and came across this. Looks really nice so I thought I'd share it with all you guys. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-che ... 19b9ff7307
deziped Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I had one of these, a 1977. It was a great vehicle with the quadratrac in the deep (2 to 3') snow as well as very comfortable on the road on long trips. Only drawback, the 360/400 combo was like my alcoloic brother. It drank it's share along with everyone elses's. It needed the auxillary tank for sure. Been thinking about finding a clean cheap one for short jaunts to the local hills. Kinda hard to get 4-5 kids/friends in the MJ.
Eagle Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I had a '78 with the 360 V8 and QuadraTrac as my plow vehicle for several years. My brother had one, as well. I always had the feeling they were essentially unstoppable. The weakness (for here in the rust belt) was/is that the frames are prone to rusting out.
-600JeepMJ Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010  nice find I hope the new owner keeps it looking so nice.
socal1200r Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Nice Cherokee Chief...the winning bid was $4500, not bad! I like it, didn't know they were gas hogs though, but they seem like they're built like a tank!
codybutz Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 One of the guys i grew up with, family had one, with the wood grain panels. I think that it was " the jeep" that got me hooked. It was like my first contact with jeeps. I just thought the black and white paint combo on this one was really nice looking.
