  1. nobody have anything? or any leads on something?
  2. Hey guys well here's the low down. This last winter I sold my MJ because it was to hard parking two jeeps on the streets in Chicago without having to worry about parking tickets. So I sold the MJ. In July My Xj was stolen, I drove it to St Louis, and it was stolen in front of my friends building . Long story short, the insurance company did not use any lube when they bent me over. Which brings me to my post.... I'm looking for a 1987 and newer MJ, it must have the 4.0 in it and It must be a short bed. The bed can be rusted and falling off as long as it has a solid frame and runs. I'd much rather have a 4x4 but that can be added later. So 87' and newer, 4.0 and short bed is what I'm looking for. I live in Chicago but I will travel in the Midwest area. Thanks - Cody
  3. Hey guys I could use a hand here. Not to long after I sold my Comanche, My Cherokee / daily driver was stolen. I put a lot of work into both of those jeeps and I have been cars less for about 3 months now. The reason I have been without a car is because I have an illness. This illness is the need/want to only drive jeeps, but not just any model. I am addicted to the Mj and Xj 's. Which brings me to my point.... Is there anybody in Colorado, near the Lakewood area that could possible take a look at an MJ for me? If so get back at me, and I'll give you the details. Thanks for listening. - Cody
  4. The Rem, 12 gauge 870 tact model holds 9 rounds with a 19" barrel direct from the factory. When loaded with a combo of 1 ounce slugs and 00 buck, your home will be very safe. not to mention a flat black tact shotgun just looks sweet.
  5. Looking for an untouched 87-89 xj dana 44. no bent tubes please. will drive to pick up if within reason. reasonably priced. I'm sick of find ones that people are asking way to much for. I've bought and sold enough of these to know that an untouched dana 44 is not worth $600.
  6. Yep. Thanks again. - Cody
  7. Hey thanks so much that would be great, and quite helpful. -Cody
  8. Does anybody know of a good shop, to bring a pair of axles to be built up? I'm in chicago and up until now have been able to do all my own work on my jeeps. But really have the time, know how, or space to do gears and lockers. Can anybody give me a heads up on a legit place in or around chicago. both axles will be out of the jeep so dropping off and picking them up later will be no problem. thanks - cody
  9. Its hard to be thankful for a weekday off work that I can't spend working in the garage. But I'm sure all the pies will help me cope. Happy turkey day!
  10. I keep finding a puddle of water forming on the inside of my cab between the drivers door and the bench seat on the floor. I've replaced every piece of rubber around both doors and the floor boards are brand new with no holes. The only thing i can think of is that the door is tweaked or bent and is not closing properly creating a good seal with the door jam. Its an 87 so this would not surprise me that its twisted some how. has anybody every experienced something like this before? any ideas or input?
  11. HAHA, no Ive seen that posted a few times tho. I found a 98 2wd 4 door xj needs a head gasket and some body work. $700. So my white long bed might be up for sale soon idk, I like using her as a work truck. Plus she doesn't drink gas like my lift xj.
  12. Hey I found something can you delete this thread please. thanks. -Cody
  13. Ya I'd hate to cut apart a good mj. I'm looking for something to fully cage with fiber glass all the way around so I really only need a solid cab. Could even be a roller with no motor or trans.
  14. Looking for a a Short bed MJ, I'm really not going to be to picky, it does need to be a short bed, with the inline 6, 4.0L motor, any trans, 2wd or 4wd. the bed can be completely gone as long as the cab is in decent shape. I'd prefer it run but if the problems and price is right then I'll entertain anything. If the truck is worth it i might be willing to trade w/ some cash my completely rust free running driving long bed. ( see my posts for that truck).
  15. while i don't agree with everything you stated above....it would be funny to dress in that manner and just go completely strip the jeep, pay for it all and leave without saying a word the whole time to anybody. it would probably freak some people out as well. :rotf:
  16. Check out suicidedoors.com they might be able to help you out. Also there are ways to make your own body kits with sheet metal.
  17. Any plans to get rid of the ladder rack? :D
  18. And as far as long bed / short bed goes.. I love the long bed i just helped a friend move and it was great having the space. But in college, I built a fully caged and fiber glassed pre runner s-10. And my head is going crazy with ideas of a pre runner MJ.
  19. Thanks for the kind words guys. When I got her she was at least 3 different reds that I saw. Since I saw my first white long bed on the forum here I knew I wanted a white one. And since most of the replacement sheet metal came from a white xj, it only made my choice that much easier. I think the only metal that's original is the bed, the cab and the driver side door. Thank god for all the xj's in the jy. As far as engine work i haven't really done much, an oil change w/ new filter, an air filter, new battery and battery leads, and new exhaust. she runs a little rough but once i get some more time I'll do plugs and wires, maybe the cap and rotor, and new head gasket. Other then my turn signal problem she isn't a bad d/d.
  20. So it has been a pretty long time since I updated about my MJ. I have gotten a lot done in the past months. I won't bore you with all the details, but here are a couple pictures of how she sits now. for right now I'm just using her as a d/d. I will be picking up a matching camper top soon. I love the color white on the MJ, but it makes the long bed seem even longer. I can't decide on a lift set up yet so I'm going to wait until the winter to tear apart the suspension.
  21. did your Hobart come with gauges? if so go get a bottle of 75/25 or what ever the house mix is at your local welding supply store. usually pure argon is used for aluminum.
  22. What about cutting the bumper off from the brackets and backing the bolts out. You should be able to break the tack welds off by hitting it with a good sized hammer in the side to side motion.
  23. Rob if you ever need a kidney I could use/dream of some things off that list you have there lol
  24. So as I am finishing up the mj before I use it as my daily driver, there are a couple smaller problems I need your help with. First the speedometer needle is shakey and bounces around. What could cuase this and what's the way to fix it. Next my right turn signal randomly comes on, like there is a short and it pops on. Is there a faulty switch in the column? All these problems are on a 87 4.0 5speed floor shift 4x4 with136k on the clock.
