Question for those who purchased new exhaust manifolds

Recommended Posts

Where did you but your new manifold and how well did it fit?

I am considering buying one of the following manifolds, they might even be the same brand for all I know.

I just picked up my APN header this week. It looks just like a Banks for about a 1/3 of the price. It cost me $150 or so shipped. I really like the limited lifetime warranty.

I hear they can be a real bear to get a couple bolts on the bottom tightened down.

EDIT: I see you are working with a 89. This Header will required mods to work on your truck.

Mine on my '89 is cracked and leaking badly. I REALLY notice it now that the water pump and idler are SO quiet!! I was just going to pull it and reweld it up. But at under $150 for a replacement, guess I'll change my plans!! :smart:

I have done a couple header installs on 4L jeeps and the one thing you MUST have is a set of ratchet wrenches. Also someone with skinny arms is quite helpful. I have had a young neighbor hood kid help me with the later twice now. :clapping:
