sinkrun Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Anyone else sick of paying alot of money just to put junk chinese parts on our jeeps! Used to be with NAPA you were able to get USA parts even there getting into this junk.
HOrnbrod Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Yep, and you may as well get used to it. Mopar has stopped selling most all XJ/MJ parts now, so it will only get worse. A lot of the NOS parts that were snapped up by privateers from belly-up dealers turn up on Ebay and other venues quite a bit. Even if I don't need the part at the time, I'll get it if it's a good buy and a high failure item. :D
sinkrun Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 I have been starting to do that also its our only hope.
dfreeman616 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 napa usually has 2 grades...and the more costly one is usually US or at least canada. i always spring for the higher level part, i don't want to repeat in 2 months.
knever3 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I bought NEW Dorman replacement upper and lower control arms for my Jeep and one set is from China, and the other Tiawan. I thought Dorman was an American company?? :USAflag: If I knew that before ordering them, I wouldn't have. You can use the uppers for a yard dart there so light!
jimoshel Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Dorman is an American Co. Like so many others that have been driven out of the country by high labor costs and government regulations and civil lawsuits they had to find a cheaper place to establish a plant or just shut their doors. The hdqtrs remains in America. The manufacturing plant is in Taiwan, China or where ever. I deliberately make it a point to buy American, even if it means paying a little more. However it is just getting impossible to do in some cases anymore.
