Especially if you take shortcuts and don't follow directions. :agree: Yep, been in many a fire where it feels like your gonna die. It is the UTMOST importance you follow directions, and figure out whether you a leader or follower... Not a good thing to realize your a follower in a fire... Won't turn out well. www.HFPD.org Rob L. KYMJ
I've been through the 3rd, 4th, and 5th editions, mostly interesting reading. Started before any editions, lol. The skills aren't hard if you have a few dedicated buddies to practice with. Don't sweat the skills, they're not as bad as they seem. Very satisfying feeling to get through the FF1 and FF2. Guess I could have been "grandfathered" in, but how inspiring would that have been to my young firefighters, especially being an instructor. KYMJ
I'm a Fire Instructor I. I don't have an organized class. I can teach any subject that has a lesson plan, which all of these subjects do. A company officer in any dept should be able to teach any of these as well in the form of company drills. FFI and FF II testing and skill evaluations are formally given by state fire instructors. In Kentucky, you don't neccesarily have to have formal training. If you study these manuals on your own, including the skills, you just have to show up when testing is done and pass the evaluations. Formal classes will help if going for a degree of some sort.

I know that a few people have commented on your linguistic skills, I myself haven't said anything till now. I know you got the needed skills, I seen you use them when you posted about your Canadian soldiers, all I'm saying is that in the adult world noboby is going to want to try and decipher this: (Quote-freekjeep: nah my community only has a voulenter fire department. if i move to the city i will but i like out department more than other departments. i don't knkow ehy i just do . were quite layed back but very professional if that makess ense. 64 Cheyenne
I don't text so my deciphering skill aren't very good, which makes for your speed typing hard to read sometimes.

Geonovast
hanks for your concern. when I'm on here i type abit faster than i normally do and i do use shortened words. Yes, but the question is why? There's no rush. You're not in any sort of hurry. This isn't a crowded chat room. If you were even reading your own posts you could see why we have such a hard time talking to you. Just slow down a bit. With a little practice, you can learn to type quickly and correctly. It really is not too much to ask that you at least try to make yourself legible. Read over your posts before you submit them.
freakjeep93
i guess i don't really type faster or anthing but i don't really know why i screw up more when I'm typing here but I'm working on it.

This isn't the case here I think, but being in a rush might become a norm. Google Chrome allows several windows to be open at a time. I like it because if I am researching, having multiple windows open does not affect the speed at all. But I can search 6-8 pages at a time and let them load while I keep tossing in keywords. It takes some time to master, but it certainly speeds up research. Combine that with someone who uses MSN for three to five chats at a time, and some people need to rush off to make sure they're not missing a conversation. ;)
