garyindiane
Hi, I'm in the process of droping the trans on the beast. When I removed my down pipe the flange bolts broke. My question is are the studs removable. Can I just replace them with some bolts? Grade 5 or better? Specs: 89 4.0L Any help or info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance -Gary

Pete M
They are pressed in and "removable". But it's not necessarily an easy task. :(

Darren
When you replace them, use a grade 8 with "never seize".

garyindiane
Trust me my hands are staind from using so much anti-seize. I do have one more question. I just looked up the donut gasket for the flange and it say their are 2 required? Does anyone know where the other one would go? Do I use one on the down pipe and one on the manifold? I'm just trying to make sure I have everything i need. Thanks-Gary
