HOrnbrod
The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. A must see when you're in Hawaii. Also the USS Bowfin Submarine Park. A very humbling experience. Thanks for reminding us Carl'sMJ. :USAflag:
mfpdm
The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. A must see when you're in Hawaii. Also the USS Bowfin Submarine Park. A very humbling experience. Thanks for reminding us Carl'sMJ. :USAflag: :agree: I was really moved by it. Out of all the ships that were sunk and damaged during the raid, all but three went back into service. Out of the three, two remain in the waters there at Pearl. Here's a good read. Has all the stat's and a lot more. http://www.history.navy.mil/branches/te ... /facts.htm
HOrnbrod
Hey Paul. What about the young sailors that take the passengers out to the sire in the launches? That has to be the best duty in the Navy. It's also interesting to see all the Japanese who go to the memorial. Most of them appear to be moved by it also. I talked to a couple of them and they said it wasn't bad. I was going to mention the fact that it seems more Japanese visited the memorial than anyone else. I sat there and wondered what they felt. :dunno: Now that the MightyMo is there, you have the beginning and the end of our war with Japan. Most of the workers on the USS Missouri are old retired guys and do it for free. Here's looking off the brow towards the Arizona memorial.
