can anyone tell me how to get the specs on my trucks so there is no more confusion when i ask questions

 

the 92 has plates inside the door and 2 on the firewall

the 88 has plates that i really can't read

 

can't you use the vin # or something?

The only thing the VIN will tell you is what engine and tranny was in it when it left the factiory. After several years and PO'S no telling what any of them could have altered. Those info labels on the door and door jambs are a joke.6 months and they become illegible. The only way to positively ID anything is to look at it, often requiring cleaning, scrapeing crud from any tags, stampings. Any good Chilton or Haynes manual can help ID them. Personally I think Chilton's is a little better when it comes to ID info.

Also if your planning on doing any serious work yourself I suggest getting a Factory Service Manual.

Send me the last 9 digits of your VIN and your milage and I can look on chrysler and get you a build sheet that should be pretty close to what you want, either post it here or PM it to me and Ill look it up for you.
