mjeff87
Anyone else turning wrenches today? :D Pulled the head on the TJ after dinner....gonna run it up to the shop at 0800 tomorrow and get the rear (snapped) stud drilled out. Should have it back on the road by early afternoon. Jeff Image Not Found head off (what a PITA.....) Image Not Found snapped off stud that costs $1.50, but is gonna cost $100 in gaskets, head bolts, and machine shop work :headpop: Image Not Found
dasbulliwagen
Get another stud for the very front one too, because if it hasnt broke yet, it will later and youll have to do this all over again. Chrysler has a revised torque value for the end bolts because of this problem, so do your homework. Good luck!

mjeff87
just got done putting it all back together.......wow, what a difference. Turns out I had an intake manifold leak too at #'s 3 and 4. Fixed all that with a new gasket, did an oil change, coolant change (obviously), new plugs, serpentine belt, cleaned the TB, and went and filled it up with gas. The thing is actually kinda fun to drive once again ;) Jeff

87mjdriver
I got my mj running last week, found a ground strap had rubbed/melted thru the CPS wire. so wednesday went to the dmv to get renew the plate tabs. so turkey day I needed to run to walmart for a few last minute things for dinner, decided to take the boy and go for a ride in the truck. get into the truck to leave walmart and it doesn't start. had wife come pick us up after 20 minutes of banging on the starter, checking battery connections and doing the old screwdriver starter jump which didn't work. no auto parts stores open on turkey day. so first thing on black friday I am laying on my back chaging a starter in the walmart parking lot. fun fun
