Automan2164
Recently, I stumbled across a website by absolute accident, and have to share it with everyone... Wade (89Eliminator) and I have been playing, and working out all the kinks of operating it now for a few days, and find it to be really realistic. Its a free game that plays on physics, and real life attributes. You can make your own vehicle (advanced) or you can use someone elses. Cranes, wreckers, tow-rigs, sportscars, everything... You can download new rigs and such, some better than others. You can tell the first tries by the quality, but some people turn out some SICK RIGS! Some have lockers, winches, can get high centered on an axle... AWESOME. Here are some vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qnXSGZNdTc SITE: http://www.rigsofrods.com Check it out! Rob L. Automan2164
On a recent trip hauling the Blazer truggy to the rocks: My 'yota got loose on the rocks, and did a backroll, ended up with 2 blown out front tires, a smashed grille, and I couldn't get it started... Had to go and get the tow rig and winch it off the rocks. Rob L. :D
87Warrior
This looks like an awesome game. Although I am not a gamer by any means, several years ago I picked up 4x4 Evo 2 for my computer. Good racing game, not so much the slow technical stuff. Going to be giving this a try. Any tips or tricks? I am reviewing the 'how to' material while it downloads. Automan2164
For starters, use the manual trans with the auto clutch until you get the feel. Some vehicles are more in depth... They will all kill in gear if the clutch isn't in, but as an example, I slammed pretty hard with the Fullsize Blazer truggy, and broke both driveshafts... I wasn't rocking it out anymore, and with a quick look, I realized why. And the Cherokee, (the good one), even had the characteristic high-pitched jeep crank, that takes about 10 seconds to finally get it to fire up. Must be a Renix. :rotf: Rob L.

89eliminator
i havent figured out how to make trucks yet... for screenshots hit the "print screen" key. it will copy the location. then go into MS paint (or something like that) and paste the location. save that to your computer then upload it to photobucket (or a similar site). Automan2164
Latest wheeling trip... All loaded up: Going up the rock: Otherside of the rock there was a bridge, but the approach angle was bad, I goosed it, and lost it: Then on the way back, decided to run the tow rig and XJ off a huge bridge trailer and all, XJ took the brunt: (Ouch) Man this game is addicting. 87Warrior
Nevermind...just fingered out that I need to do the Configureator thing first... I found the same thing with my XP machine. Not sure I want to try it with my Windows 7 laptop with 512mb of ram.... Rob, have you downloaded any new 'terrains' for your wheeling trips? I have only got the XJ to play with thus far. There are tutorials that explain how to make trucks. Is there any way to quit a track and start another without restarting the game?

Its like a moab, with sections of rock climbs... Don't know how to switch levels without restart. Rob L.

Help ;) I have found that some of the things you can load will wipe out the stock vehicles that come with the game, so I load them one at a time, and fire up the game to make sure it won't. Do you know that the trailers don't show up in the truck shop? There is a pad with a little stand that almost looks like a huge scale. Walk up to the stand, and choose the trailer. Rob L.
