Geonovast Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 A town about an hour north of me has one of those for their police force. This was a couple years ago I saw it, but the officer didn't let anyone else on the force drive it.

500 MJ Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 You still see the occasional one being driven my a Michigan State Police Officer back in Mi, can spot it miles away with the red cherry top and Navy paint... Always fun to see an XJ still in service...
kar120c Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The last department I was with, had two late model black & white XJ's. One was donated to public works after it was "retired" and the other was for the K9 officer. One sad day it had an engine bay fire and was totaled. This was before I joined, but my best guess is it didn't have the heat shield recall for the intake manifold. Even with the stupid thing, I have to vacuum out my manifold every couple of months. Bugs, leaves and other crap still makes it's way up there.
