fuel pump ballast resistor

Where is the fuel pump ballast resistor? I think that is reason why my fuel pump is on a switch. The wire runs from the battery to an orange wire inside the cab, behind the seat. Thanks for your help.

Myron,I think your looking too close to the firewall, the resistor is supposed to mount closer to the to the L/front corner of the engine compartment.

The overflow bottle runs the all the way down. I took it off and there is nothing behind it. Is the ballast resistor only on the 6cyl? Or maybe in a different place on the 2.5?

Not sure,think you might be right.Another reason it could be on a switch is that the relay could have gone bad and the PO didn.t know how to fix it.

I take it that the 2.5L has no fuel pump ballast resistor?

I did a check in my electrical troubleshooting manual for the 88 comanche. It only shows the ballast resistor on the 4.0 engine fuel control schematic only.
