Myron
Where is the fuel pump ballast resistor? I think that is reason why my fuel pump is on a switch. The wire runs from the battery to an orange wire inside the cab, behind the seat. Thanks for your help.

HOrnbrod
I think that is reason why my fuel pump is on a switch. The wire runs from the battery to an orange wire inside the cab, behind the seat. Unless someone wired in a primitive anti-theft device. :brows:
Myron
I think I have a problem. Mine looks like this. Image Not Found
64 Cheyenne
Myron,I think your looking too close to the firewall, the resistor is supposed to mount closer to the to the L/front corner of the engine compartment. See the hood pop-up spring in Pete's pic?
Myron
The overflow bottle runs the all the way down. I took it off and there is nothing behind it. Is the ballast resistor only on the 6cyl? Or maybe in a different place on the 2.5?
64 Cheyenne
Not sure, think you might be right.Another reason it could be on a switch is that the relay could have gone bad and the PO didn.t know how to fix it.
Myron
I take it that the 2.5L has no fuel pump ballast resistor?
Mongo
I did a check in my electrical troubleshooting manual for the 88 comanche. It only shows the ballast resistor on the 4.0 engine fuel control schematic only.
