90eliminator
so just bought this 92 limited... towed it home from NJ to Iowa.... 170k but real clean...for 560 bucks... but as soon as I got it home...with the key in the ignition put the battery charger on the battery(it was dead) the car alarm started going off.. well the headlights flashed, and the doors all locked.... with the key inside... Well i broke in... but now this alarm has given me some problems... It will continually drain the battery over the course of 2-3 days... have to unlock the door all the time, it always locks itself after a certain timeout.... Any ideas on how to disconnect it, can I do that... just unhook the main brain.... I have no key fob with the jeep so all I can do is unlock and lock the drivers door to reset it... Any ideas would be great....thanks
shelbyluvv
I read somewhere to unlock the hatch with the key or the passenger door to rest the alarm? i am pretty sure it was the hatch though.
lostissues
is it the factory alarm? can you look under the dash and see if there are any aftermarket looking things. if there is something there you should be able to remove all the related wiring and hook back up anything that was cut and you should be good. 90eliminator
I am almost positive that this is a factory alarm...but no mention in any fuses or anything... I just want it disconnected.. I live in Iowa...have no need for an alarm on a 17 yr old vehicle.... wow thats old...
